60 Seconds of Silence and More

Till when will we Muslims take this blame on us for being terrorists?

Till when will our voices not be heard?

Till when will we be blamed?

Till when will innocent lives be taken on the name of terrorism?

Its now time not to shout slogans on the streets, or to write on blogs or to speak to the world leaders....Its now time for all the caring nations to stand up and unite and show the rest of the world that we are not weak!

Time Flies

It been 10 years since I first moved to London for my college. I just recalled all the great childhood days. After graduating from high school how I moved to a new place where I learned so much that I never did before while living under my parents roof. I met some great people, I did really good in my college, I had some bad experiences but they all teach you something at the end. When I was mugged a few times. My first serious crush on my cousin and her claiming at the end that she always thought of me as her brother (LOL thats so embarasing). The first time I went to a night club. The last time I ever smoked a cigrette (I was a occational smoker). The scary noice of the fast moving trains on the station. Its London and I just love everything about that city.

Good old fact the best days of my life. I wish there was a rewind button in my life and I could just go back and live those days again. The freezing winter and me waiting for hours for my bus to arrive. My first job working at McDonald and my dads reaction over it. I am just writing it here and smiling thinking about those days.

Today when I look back at those days and say omg its really been 10 years!!!! It all looks like yesterday when I was a 18 year old Amu who was never into studies and went to London to study there because my parents wanted me to stand out in the family.

Who Are Better Drivers: Men or Women?

The Answer Is ...

In a recent study released by Quality Planning, an analytics company that validates policyholder information for auto insurers, women came out on top (sorry guys).

The study analyzed different kinds of vehicle code violations (traffic violations) and then compared how many times men were cited versus women. The conclusion was that men break more traffic laws and drive more dangerously than women. Because they violate laws designed to make the roads safer, men cause more accidents and expensive damage.

More women are partaking in risky behaviors behind the wheel. Since more women are becoming licensed drivers than ever before, many experts believe men and women will soon be equally as offensive behind the wheel. Click here to read more.

A Post Without .......

There is something missing in my daily life. All of a sudden over the weekend I have started to feel that there is something bad coming my way. I was kinda scared over the weekend. I acted strange at different times. I apologized to someone who I felt I might have hurt in past. I spoke to my mom. I decided to pay Zakat on my income. I did everything that could make me feel better but inside me there is something that is bothering me. I woke up today morning I prayed even though it was late. I was driving to work in the morning and saw all these bad accidents on the road. I felt like it was the day of judgment with all the chaos on the road. I don't know really the reason behind me feeling so blue but there is something not happening well and I have to figure that out...

New Brand

I have been giving more hours to my business recently. With all this effort and hard work. I have got really good results. All this has given me the courage to invest more and expand the business further.

So with a few other things on my list to complete. One of them is to have a new name for my products.

Let me tell you about my business to give you a better idea on how it works. I basically import ready made garments and I have both wholesale and retail outlets. My main focus is on the retail part of the business.

I have got a few names in mind but I thought let me ask bloggers here. So what do you suggest would be a new name?

Have a nice Weekend...

Quote to all...

You punch me, I punch back. I do not believe it's good for ones self-respect to be a punching bag.

~Edward Koch

I am disappointed at the way few blogger treat others while commenting. We laugh, we joke, we share our good and bad but there is a point when it comes to our respect. There is a line we all should not cross. We all need to be equally respected. If one does not know how to respect another blogger they should not attack or refer him/her in any way. It's crossing limits now...

Respect Us to Respect You!!!

Do you all agree with me on this?

Bush Game

It has been a little over 24 hours since we heard that some reporter in Iraq threw shoes at Mr Bush and few minutes back a friend just shared with me this link.

Objective: Hit President Bush in the face with your shoes. Do it!!

How Dangerous Of A Driver Are You?

How dangerous of a driver are you?

You scored a 49% (C)! Your driving level is: Average Risk

Somehow I think I am more risky on the road but after answering it honestly I think I am not bad ;p share your scores in the comment box!

Weekend Mixture and Cold

This weekend has officially given us the sign that the weather is cold now. It was damn cold yesterday morning when I went for a ride. I couldn't feel my hands or feet after I came back home. They were numb and I felt would break into pieces if anyone hits on them. Even with all this gear on I was freezing. I still kept on riding with a friend for few hours and it was fun like always. After I reached home I stayed under the shower till the hot water finished in the tank. I needed more...

Sleeping is my new hobby. I slept at 8pm last night and woke up at 7am and still wouldn't mind in sleeping more if I got the chance. I did mention in some post few days back that I just sleep for 6 hours in a day and now its double the hours and still not enough!!!

What else did I do over the weekend? mmmmm *thinking*

I have been eating a lot. Thanks to C2 ;) . All we do is eat/drink(hot chocolate and coolers) and then we walk like there is no tomorrow to loose a few kilos and then again we get back to our food. Its fun though as its a new routine for me.

Finally, C1 took C2 to the Animal Friends League over the weekend. C1 is starting to like dogs and C2 was over the moon to see all those little puppies. Not to mention the way she got scared when she entered the place as the dogs kinda jumped on her.

and yeaHHH I am C3 the driver :D

It was a cold, fun and relaxing weekend.

Last Years Failed Resolutions

Last year for the first time I had a few resolutions for this year that is about to end. I usually never go with the resolutions but it seems I was copying everyone who was writing it on their blogs.

So I was looking back at my last years post(Click here to view them) and I haven't achieved any resolution except one.

Honestly the post made me laugh as the only resolution I achieved was.....

...... 5) Get a new father for SPEEDO. I didn't get the father I mentioned there but I definitely got a monster :D and I truly love riding EDGE.

So who is planning for new resolutions for the coming year now? Did you plan any for this year? Share some of your resolutions here :)

HP HDX Notebook

I am not too much into gadgets these days but when at times my eye catches something I just so want to have it.

A few days back I was looking around for some electronics in Eureka and as soon as my eyes got on this one I just wanted to buy it the same time. The screen size is 20.1 inch High Definition and gives you a good feeling with that crystal clear quality. You can get more details on the specs here.

Still I didn't buy it for 2 reasons!!! The first one because I already have a laptop which is good enough and why do I need to spend another KD700 on a new one and second because the weight and size of the notebook is big and they didn't have a carrying case for it.

But I still have this crave in me that I need this notebook. Any reviews about it would be helpful?

A Quiet Afternoon

I wanted a place where I could spend sometime relaxing and reading newspaper. I went from cafe to cafe and as its 3eed and nearly every place is crowded, I finally wanted to give my last try to The Coffee Bean which is across Al Seif palace. To my luck it has been the most relaxing place to park Edge and have an ice blended coffee.

Body Ache...

Every time I come back from a long ride on Edge my body starts aching and the rest of my day goes pretty lame.

Don't know the reason!!!

It might be either the wind or my sitting position or whatever...

Shame On You NBK!!!

I am tired of mentioning how terrible banking system we have here and whats worse than that is the customer service. I have to deal with NBK a lot usually as there is a few times in the month where it requires me to transfer funds to our supplier accounts for the goods.

In the beginning of last month I lost my dads ATM card and called their customer service and reported it lost. I informed them that my dad is away and the procedure I can collect the card and pin number on his behalf. I did the arrangements got the letter sent to my dad got it signed and got it back. My journey to receive the card became crazy and hectic. Below is the conversation I had with them in the last 2 days.

Yesterday to receive the card:

Me: Hi, I am here to receive the card. *Pass the necessary authorisation letters they requested*
NBK: Please have a seat. We will call you shortly.
*after 5 minutes*
NBK: Sir, here is your card but we cant give you the pin number as it requires another letter.
Me: Well I was informed that 1 letter from my father would do the needful.
NBK: No!! this letter states that please give you the ATM card and pin number but as we have a new process in order where we dont issue you a pin number and you select your personalised pin number so you have to get a new letter.
Me: Well I wasnt informed about this when I reported lost for the ATM card.
NBK: *ignoring to what I have said* but you have to bring the new letter.
Me: Ok!! thanks...

As I walk out I call the customer service asking them why wasnt I informed about the new description that needed to be mentioned in the letter and they inform me to go and complain to the nearest branch about this and I cant select my new pin from any of the branches. I visit 2 more branches and was informed that their system to issue pin number is down and I should visit them tomorrow.

Today Morning I visit the nearest NBK branch to select the pin and the person informs me that as my letter is adressed to the HO branch I have to visit them.

Today Morning at NBK HO....

Me: Hi...I am here to select the pin number as I received the ATM card yesterday and I believe your system was down yesterday so I couldnt select the pin.
NBK: Takes the documents from me and disappears for 5 mins.
*after 5 minutes*
NBK: Sir would you like to come with me...
*he takes me to the same person I ended up with yesterday*
NBK: I informed you yesterday that you need a new letter.
Me: Well I called your customer survice and they asked me to go to your nearest branch and complain about you to a manager there as this letter is good to choose the pin number.
NBK: No its not...
Me: Can I speak to the Manager?
*points me to the direction where the manager sits*
Me: again repeating all what I have said so far to the manager.
NBK: well we have a different format to receive the pin code.
Me: *really pissed at this point* Well why wasnt I informed about this earlier. You think its a joke to go from one place to another and I have informed you that my dad is not around at present and I have to send him the letter every time you ask for new letters.
NBK: well you should call the customer service again and complain about them informing you wrong.
*shocked, disapointed at the bloody bank* I walked out of her office went to the guy he calls a few places to check if there is such letter that exists in the organisation. Finally finds his way to get that letter and gives me the print.
Me: I have a blank paper with my dads signature on it. Can I print this on that and bring it again.
NBK: No you need to send this letter and get it signed.
Me: Thank you...
*I walk out of the bank angry*

I reach my work and ask my secretary to write the text that they have given me on the blank paper where I have my dads signature. Once its done I drive back to the nearest NBK. As the nearest one at that time was in Ardiya which I have never seen I call the F***** up customer service again asking them for the address of their branch location in Ardiya.

Me: Hi.. I am lost in Ardiya looking for your branch here. Can you please tell me which block is it located in?
NBK: Sir, its located on street number 50.
Me: Since when in kuwait we started following street numbers leaving the block address as they are not properly labelled on most of the streets. Can you tell me which block is it in?
NBK: Sir, I dont have that on the system but can you wait I will check it for you...
Me: Sure!
*after 2 minutes*
NBK: sorry to keep you waiting, We dont have the block address but its located near the central cooperative next to the Hardees Restaurant.
Me: I am telling you that I am lost in the area and how do you think I will find hardees in 12 different blocks when I dont even know the block number.
NBK: Sorry sir but we dont have the address and the one I am telling you is after asking a few collegues that are working with me.
Me: Ok thanks..bye...

I finally get out of the area drive to a neighbouring area branch give them the paper. This time the lady sitting there knew what she had to do and she verified the signature, I selected the signature and was out in less than 5 minutes.

WTF WTF WTF NBK....I am seriously pissed at the poor conditions around here. The banking system, the customer service, the managers its sad to know that no one knows their job. Whats shocking is that they are promoting to go and complain against their own people rather than sorting the problem. I guess its time to open a small bank in our houses rather than facing such people!!!!!

C 1 & C 2

C1 and C2 both like to go on long drives. They both are equally crazy and like to explore different cultures and places. C1 likes C2 and has a developing crush for her. C2 is cute, shy and as naughty as C1. They both have mutual understanding. They both walk every night under the moon light with their daily gossips to tell each other. C2 is scared of cats and has an ever lasting love for dogs but C1 hates animals.

Breakfast and Ride to Mutla

There was a group ride organized today by TriStar. I had my plans set and I woke up at 5:30am and was out by 7am. I headed straight to my usual bike wash place. Got Edge all shiny and good for todays ride and headed towards Marina Crescent for the meeting the guys. As I arrived there early I decided to have breakfast at Jhonny Rockets and I have to say that I havent had this tasty breakfast in the last few months. It was just YUMMY!

Soon I met with the other riders and head to Mutla for a group ride. I went a bit too crazy today and finally hit the 300km/hr speed on Edge. Thats the maximum speed on Edge so I guess I hit the finall target today. We were 8 bikers and 4 of them were cruising normally the rest 4 which included me went out of the way and we were racing on the empty road. It was fun riding with the group. I have to say that when I finally arrived home I just feel I just went a bit too hyper while riding today. I have to hold my self and be careful for my next ride!

Meet the Rider

I know I have lately been posting a lot of pictures of EDGE. Well this is the only obsession I have these days. So I am enjoying it till the weather lasts.

I can't wait to leave my work to ride on EDGE ;p

Dear Salary

Please come back to STAY with me.
You left in such a rush last month,
I didn't even have time to tell you about my plans.

I'm sorry about whatever it is I did.
I promise I'll be good.
Luv you

That brings a question to my mind. If you are working, are you broke by the end of the month? Are you in a situation where you can't wait to have your salary in your account?

P.S got this as a fwd in my email and though of sharing.

More On EDGE

As the riding experience has been amazing so far and the weather has been great. I have added a few more things on EDGE and bought two new items to add to my gear.

I am really thinking on changing the exhaust system but that will be the next stage. Honestly if there is something I am really enjoying these days its riding. I have been around some good bikers and every weekend is a new experience. The more I ride the more I learn.

I have added a black tinted visor to my helmet and a tank protector. I bought new pair of protective Dainese boots and gloves for riding from Tristar.

Employed, Self Employed Or Not Employed

This is something I have often noticed in Kuwait when I am having a conversation with someone or hearing two people talking and lets see how do you all answer it.

If you are not Employed and Self Employed would you say to others you are Not Employed and why?

Even if you have a small business that you have started recently why wouldn't you tell others that you are self employed?

Is it because people tend to avoid telling others till they have a well settled business?

Edge Incident

I reached home last night at 9PM to find out that EDGE was fully covered in thick layers of white cement. My building has been having some construction work on the roof and the labors working didn’t care of what was down and the result was what I wrote up.

I really didn’t know what to do at that time. I was kind of in a state of shock. I threw my wallet there, picked up the water hose and sprayed it on all over EDGE. The reason was the labors were working since 6AM in the morning and after 12 – 15 hours the cement was in a solid shape. I didn’t want to scratch the bike so I wanted it to get a bit soft so I could pick it up.

Once I sprayed enough water on the bike I slowly then started to pick up the stone shaped cement pieces that were on the bike. It took me nearly two hours to clean it but as it was dark I couldn’t see what the effect was.

In the morning I woke up with the sunrise at 6AM and left home at 7AM to take the bike to a service station to get it washed. I could see a lot of white and black marks on the bike. I really thought this would be the last day me riding it and I would probably sell it after the wash. I took it to the service station I usually go to and asked the guy to clean it with the best way he could ever do. The guy washed it a few times and then finally I could see the shine again. I was really relaxed. I still need to get it polished as I can see few scratches on the tank and covers.

Spill It...

I was inspired by FourMe's post so decided on asking people here to spill out thing that has been burden on your shoulder.Did you ever want to tell someone something and you held your tongue back? Were you too embarrassed to say it? Were you too afraid to say it? Did you not have the courage to say it? What ever it is and to whom ever it is intended to just say it here if it was meant for a parent, sibling, loved one, an ex, a boss, a friend, someone that is no longer with you, a teacher, or Hitler. Just what ever it is that you wanted to say to a person and you couldn't. You have the chance to say it here..

Rules are as follows:
1. Comments MUST be left as ANONYMOUS.
2. State who is the person you wanted to tell them what ever it is.

Ride to SAV3 Event

Kuwait BMW motorcycles club and Dar Al Shifa Hospital organized a Ride to Sav3 blood donating event for all bikers from around Kuwait last Saturday. Bikers drove from Green Island to Dar Al Shifa hospital in Hawally. The event was something different than the usual ones. There were around 150 bikers with police escorting them till they reached the hospital. The event was really one of its kind and as it was for a good cause there were good number of bikers present there. I met Marzouq and his group and a few other bikers who I haven't met in some time. It was really worth participating. Even though I kinda got scared after reaching the hospital and didn't donate blood I was glad that I was with the group while riding to the hospital.

And finally Bashar was there on his KTM too :D
