Is Kuwait For Kuwaitis

With all due respect to the citizens and expatriates of Kuwait.

Scrolling through the news papers and reading the events during the National and liberation Day celebrations. Seeing the joy on people face makes me happy to see the citizens enjoying them self. I have never seen any where in the world people celebrating the national and liberation day in such a way. The heart of every citizen and expatriate is filled with love for this country.

But something makes me think 'Is Kuwait only for Kuwaitis' ? When I look into the news papers I see the pictures of citizens only! Why don't we show that foreigners are part of this celebration? When I read an article in the newspaper it only says that citizens loved and enjoyed this event. Why don't we mention foreigners too? When I say foreigners they don't have to be a particular national of any country. They can be from Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, UAE or UK, USA and China too. Are foreigners not part of this great country? Though we see a lot of other nationals in the ma9eera too.

This thought came in my mind today morning and I felt like sharing :)

Good Day!

p.s: Don't get me wrong here. I love Kuwait. Its my country. I love everything I have got and every person in this country.

Flush ....Damn it!!

I can bare anything in my daily routine except dirty toilets! This is something I am so sensitive to that at times I have driven 30kms back to my house just to use a clean toilet. I have been facing this problem lately every time I enter the toilet at my work its filthy dirty.

People use the damn toilet and why do they leave their shit for others to see. Flush it!! it takes a second. I wonder how can people be so careless that they use public toilets in this way without caring about the person who will come after them to use it.

I have always seen male's using their toilets in bad way!!! At times I have been to ladies toilets too but I would inform the cleaner that the circumstances are beyond my control and the male toilet is extremely dirty.

Do you all face this? Are you as sensitive as I am? What other alternatives do you use?

Embarkiya n The Rip Off

Mubarkiya which is also called Souk elKuwait or old souk or heritage market is one of the places where no matter how much you bargain you feel you just can't win. Yesterday me and Bu Abdullah decided to go there to buy few perfumes. As he knows that I am good in bargaining and I often take use of the 4 languages I can speak.

We have one shop where we always end up as we have been going there for a while now. But today we decided to check the prices in the other shops and then get back to our usual shop where we always purchase perfumes from.

So finally after reaching this place I ask my friend to stay quiet and let me take care of the prices.. So here we enter in the shop we get the usual warm welcome and hajji taby chai hajji taby mai things that happen there :) which is kind of them indeed!

I ask him for 3 different perfumes he calls some other shop guy and is asking him if he has those perfumes in stock and gets the prices and gets me the perfumes. During his conversation with the other guy which was in one of the languages spoken in India which I can't speak but understand as its similar to Urdu I heard the prices like KD 8 and KD 12. When the products arrived and this was the real time to bargain. Guess how much he told me the price of the perfumes??

The one for KD 8 he was asking KD15
The other two for KD 12 he was asking KD 28

Its more than 100% profit on a perfume and thats when I had to lie that we have checked the prices here and there and the one he was asking KD 15 for we got it for KD7.750 and the one he was asking KD 28 for we got it for KD14. My friend couldn't stop laughing at the way I bargain with them. But I think its fair. Coming for a business family and being the son of a business man I have learned a lot of good and bad secrets about business.

A quick one is when one of the big stores in the malls put 90% off trust me they are still making good profit out of it :) Good Day!

Its A Small World...

How true it is when people say that this is a small world?

I think it is so can never say good bye to anyone for good...

In the past few months I have come across people who left me all of a sudden and then came back to me apologising and saying that they regret to loose me as a friend and they want me back as a good friend. All these small incidents made me feel that one day I will get an answer from my ex that why did she leave me all of a sudden without a bye. All these things gave me a ray of hope that people who I didn't knew for long liked me as a friend so much then what about the girl I have cared and loved for 5 years.

And something again happened today afternoon. I found out that my best friend who is also a blogger is her best friend too. I never knew this before. I am so sad all of a sudden. I don't know what to do!! Shall I ask this friend how she is? or keeping her privacy in mind that this friend doesn't know about me and my ex I should be quiet? Its just touched me badly...

The past 5 years I have celebrated this ba6eekh (according to one chubby fatso) V D by giving flowers and different gifts marking it as a special day. This year no gift no calls no messages!! I wasn't expecting one any way... but still deep down in my heart I was waiting for that 1 message which will never come in my inbox. So the place is open.

If interested please buy me the gift in the pic below and fill in the application form in my profile and send it to me. I will look at it when time permits and get back to you if the color of the gift matches my taste!

Thank you.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Where did you get your license from?

When I often say that most women on our streets are worse than bus drivers it is so true. This red car belongs to a women who has been parking her car like this for the past 3 days and when I finally got so pissed off at her today and asked her that whats the reason she simply replied saying 'I don't know how to do reverse parking'.

So if she doesn't know how to do reverse parking:

Where and how did she get her license?
Why the f*** is she practicing here how to do reverse parking?
and on top of all this when someone hits her car she is all like my new car and bla bla bla :@

Its not that she parks in a wrong way but because of her the other 20 cars parked next to her have to suffer.

Moral of the story: Stay safe from WOMEN drivers!!

I wanted to write about this store a few months back. But I don't know how I missed it.

For our precious kids in our family this is one of the best bookstores located in Al Muthanna Complex - Mezannine - Store No 122. They have coloring books for age 1 - 11 years.

It is more than a bookshop, its a place where you can find carefully handpicked books for your children, art and crafts material and gift baskets.

Here is a link to their website, blog and flickr photos.

5 months on the move

So today is 10th again! A day I never wanted to remember for the last 5 months. Things in my life changed my world upside down and whats now?

Today I am better person. I am back to normal life. The changes I have felt in me in the last 5 months are:

  • I am not what I used to be, I am careful dealing with new people.
  • I realised Life is not a bed of rose, you don't get what you always want.
  • I love my parents so much I guess I have never loved them in 27 years that much.
  • My mom is desperate to get me a wife and my sister is desperate to get rid of me.
  • I am happy to be in blogsphere as its a new and exciting world for me.
  • I started liking facebook, just because people POKE a lot and the buying friend thing.
  • Even though I though I was bored of blogging I am back here again writing this new post. I am addicted I guess!! :D
  • I found out that I have only one true best friend NuNu. Whatever the situation was in my life she has never left me alone. So far but yet so close to me :) Thanks NuNu
  • I love all bloggers especially all those who are married :)

Is it important?

That a blogger has to reveal his/her identity on his blog?

Has to reveal his/her name?

Has to reveal his/her age?

His/her tribe?

How much does it effect the readers when they were expecting this perticular blogger to be something and what appeared was opposite?

& Do we have to care about what people think and say about us?

Am I Ready For This?

Well I am getting engaged soon...

To who? I don't know...
Have I seen the girl? No
Do I care? WHATEVER....

So my dearest mother has finally seen a girl for me. She likes her and wants me to see her. According to her the girl's family likes me as she has already spoken to them and all I need to go to her house talk to her for few minutes and say 'YES' and there she will be my soul mate. I have never been to any house before and I find it really frustrating to know that I have to wear this and behave in this way like what more matters is the way I look.

I don't know if I am ready for this big step but my friends think I am doing wrong. I have nothing to say on this as I am tired of 'girl - o - sphere'. I have always wanted this big step to come with my wish but after so much of hard luck I have given up all hopes and just to see my parents happy I am doing it the way they like it.

I am too scared. I hope it all goes well and keeps everyone happy.

Wish me luck and need your prayers!
