Zain e - GO
I have been using their USB internet device for the past 6 months and I have to say it sucks big time. They claim the speed to be 7.2 Mbps but I am sure its less than 1 MB. I feel its even worse than the dial up now. It takes me some times 2 - 3 minutes just to load my hotmail account. Opening 2 - 3 blogs will just start giving me network errors.When I bought it they told me that it is KD27/month and now I have been paying KD 29+ every month. All in all it sucks BIG TIME!!!
Last night I compared it with Wataniya and I have to say Wataniya with less speed and same money is much faster. The browsing is much quicker than Zain's e-go.
Anyone else using e-go and facing similar issues please update me?

yara: I have the same issue I have moved to a new house and here in salwa they have this thing that they are placing new cables so not giving any more new lines! I hope this problem gets sorted soon...

if you pay 27 thats mean ur speed is 512 or 1 mb i'm not sure
long story short , where you live is effect ur speed dial :)
try DSL much better

This is an international standard...they use Megabits...not Megabytes...every country I went too they used th Megabit...does that mean all of them are lying too??
and btw ..even if you have DSL (2MegaBits) at home..and you share it with 6 people...see how slow it gets..I have a 1Mb at home...and as soon as someone starts downloading at full rate...its totally slow...
give them a break .....
I have ego for the last one year, i pay 16 KD a month for 3g speed, its good , compared to the 115kbps speed i get at work . No complaints other than that ' this page can not be viewed' thingy .
and believe me even if its 0.9MegaByte it wont be crawling like mine does and I am not in Jahra or Naweeseeb...I am living in salwa...
in the beginning it was really (VERY) fast, of course you won't get the (whet they claim my ass) 7.2mbps speed, but i used to get around 1.5 or even 2.0 mbps
but recently, it became SO SLOW, similar to dial-up service, or even worse than that
i called them and they filed an incident report, they promised to call me soon
i'm still waiting :(
my subscription is only for 3 months, but i don't think I will renew it
my advice, get a DSL subscription
so i guess the problem is common to both of us or anyone in the same area
but it was ok before, why now?

Some confusion in this blog in bits and bites on 7.2 mbps.Above Gentlemen is absolutely right on real speed bit/bytes issue. I should explain it further for others.
Zain is using an external modem (eego device) which is really supporting maximum speed of 7.2 Mbps (Mega Bits Per Second). Not Bytes(8 bits=1Byte).
1Mbps(Mega Bites Per Second) DSL line=
128 (Kilo Bytes Per Second) real download speed) it mean 1Mb(mega byte) file need 8 second to download from source location not 1 second.

device has capacity to transfer 7.2 (Mega Bits Per Second) speed but they offer only 1Mbps-2Mbps (Super unlimited package monthly payment 28 kd) other package they offer around 0.4 Mbps-0.2Mbps (standard unlimited package monthly payment 15 kd). those 2 packages are new. (please don't confused with previous packages and above speeds are based on download speed)
It is not really nice to blind consumers on the Modem Maximum speed (7.2 Mbps) as Zain is providing such speed. I have no idea why they are doing such marketing trick in fact if they don't have a plan to increase bandwidth up to that speed in near future.
consumers must think twice before purchase a service. I really respect Wataniya as they are not misleading consumers on speed or their services.

the speed is sucks and you can not get a real ip.
behind this they put you on a local network with carp ip like 10.100.10 ect.. which has no sense.
you can not port forward or make your cccam server as you dont have a real ip
really sucks its good for surfing only
Please don't subscribe with zain e-Go they are big lier.
