Riddle - Can you solve it?

There lived a man in a house and everytime he went to bed he turned on the light.

One night, the man forgot to turn on the light.

The next day he read the paper and killed himself.

Why?

well i guess he has some kind of an illness that he should turn on the light of his blug or somethin, but the night he forgot he actually killed himself by mistake, because he should turn on whatever it is to keep him from dying, so i guess in the next day he just woke up and read the message that says about his serious state he got to and died!
how about this cenario?

Because someone else beat him to the record of turning on the light everyday? Or because the world anticipated his death therefore assumed he died when he didn't turn it on and published his obituary so he felt compelled to die?

Answer: The man lived in a lighthouse. He forgot to turn on the light and a ship crashed. The next morning he read in the paper that the ship crashed and killed himself because he felt guilty :)
